Ezintsha is a group of South African academics and health professionals who work with partners around the world. We apply new technology to health-related problems, and work to extend access to effective drugs so that quality health care and medicine is available to everyone. Ezintsha is a sub-division of Wits Health Consortium, which is part of the University of the Witwatersrand, based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
We have conducted multiple studies focusing on treatment optimization (the ADVANCE trial and other HIV studies, COVID-19 prophylaxis and early treatment studies), diagnostics, monitoring and management systems, technologically enabled clinical research innovations as well as chronic diseases.
We have been able to successfully recruit for the CARES study, as we have a large database of people living with HIV from our previously completed studies. Participants enrolled in the CARES study, and especially those randomized to the injectable ART arm, have been giving extremely positive feedback. They are all excited to be part of this journey with Ezintsha.
