Benson is currently the Director of Lab Services at Joint Clinical Research Center (JCRC) Laboratory that her first CAP inspection and Accreditation June 2017 and he has continued to lead a dedicated team of staff to maintain this accreditation. He is an expertise in Quality Management systems (QMS), with leadership skills and motivation necessary to successfully carry out any laboratory-based research project.
He has a broad background in laboratory Medicine, with specific training and skills in immunology and molecular biology of infectious diseases and associated host genetic factors. His research interests are hinged around cure and prevention of infectious diseases in the developing world. Recently, he has been a member on Cure-Technical Scientific Group (TSG) committee under ACTG Network. He has participant in HIV vaccine/drug clinical trials for over 20 years, and at the same time managing College of American Pathologists (CAP) Accredited laboratories in the Country.
Benson has is a key player in supporting national laboratories to attain international accreditation. He spearheaded the agenda to ensure that Kabale Regional Referral Hospital (KRRH) Laboratory is accredited by SANAS 2020.
