Dr. Simiso Sokhela, a published researcher, started her medical career when HIV was the leading cause of death in Sub-Saharan Africa, due to lack of access to antiretrovirals. She worked within South Africa’s public and private health sectors with a personal vision of reversing the HIV tide.
Dr Fredrick Sawe is the Director of the Kenya Medical Research Institute/Walter Reed Project (KEMRI/WRP) Kericho site responsible for all research and HIV/AIDS related prevention, care, and treatment activities.
Dr Sam Phiri is a Programs Director at Partners in Hope (PIH) Malawi providing Strategic Leadership to a large PEPFAR/USAID supported HIV Care and Treatment Program managing over 197,000 PLHIV on ART.
Before coming to UNAIDS Paula Munderi was Vice President for Programs with the International Association of Providers of AIDS Care (IAPAC), where she oversaw IAPAC’s support to urban HIV responses of several African cities within the Fast-Track Cities Initiative.
